Technical Seminar  -  Phantom II Society and inviting the Phantom I Fall Tour Group

Topic: Phantom II

The Phantom I (along with other prewar RR and Bentleys) will be having their hub tour based in nearby Athens, Ohio and ending on Thursday. Our seminar kicks off on Friday and we have invited everyone to join in. We will discuss the evolution of Phantom I to Phantom II cars, changes made and their significance. There will be a general forum covering questions & issues that may have occurred during the tour. Saturday we will dive into the PII starter and related components, trouble shooting, bench testing components along with video recording the demonstration. Then hands on removing a PII steering box and fully dismantling and explaining along the way.

Welcome to our Technical Seminar at EF Murphy Inc, where we’re diving into the fascinating world of fully evaluating a Phantom II  for authenticity, coachwork and chassis! We will kick things off with some engaging class time, where you’ll learn the ins and outs of  a Phantom II and what makes these classic cars so special. But we won’t stop there—get ready to roll up your sleeves for some hands-on experience  on a Phantom II 54MS brought by Andy Bellis.   The seminar ended with having the class learning to perform a cylinder leak down test and interpreting the results.

Topic:  Phantom II electrical wiring.  Starter operation and trouble shooting.  Starting and driving your PII after a long Winter's storage.  Fuel system including Auto-Vac repair and performance  testing.he evolution of the brake and hydraulic systems from the Silver Shadow up through Silver Spirit series

This seminar was held at EF Murphy Inc in Baltimore, Ohio.  This seminar had class instruction coupled with many hands on opportunities.  We discussed the electrical system along with changes during the production, terminals used along with learning whipping techniques hands on. The starting system is often feared, we explained the operation, running changes and troubleshooting.  We finished up repairing an Auto-vac selector valve housing with damaged nipples and then performance testing  the unit on the bench.
